Oops, wait...even though we don't give as high a percentage of the GDP our overall official governmental charity still outweighs that of all of europe combined...(I should say EU). I notice also that the figures quoted do not count all the dollars contributed by private groups and organizations, by churches, and individuals. Doesn't count goods and services donated by doctors, lawyers and educators. Statistics...funny numbers those....you never really kow what they are telling you, unless you are the one generating them.
I could of course comment that aids given by private groups and individuals come under individual choice, whereas aids given by governments come under political decisions. But I will just wait breathlessly for the figures you won't fail to bring us concerning private donations.

Ok at first blush, they are all Globalists and are basicly against any kind of national sovreignty for the US or any other country.... I guess you could get that from the name. Lets dig deeper.

Ok there are a lot of people who call themselves Economists. From the track record for economists in the USA..thats not good for their rep. They are wrong as often as they are right, which basicly just makes them legal bookies.
I am quite surprise by your stance about Economists here, since I seem to recall that one of your core points, back on the War forum, was that all people who disagreed with the Iraqi war basically didn't know what they were talking about, since they were not professional specialists. These people are specialists in their fields, and you refute their knowledge ?

(now that isn't an insult, It is a fair assessment.)

So is it really any wonder that the numbers that would shed a good light on the USA are eschewed for ones that make Globalizatio seem like THE answer promoted?
I didn't know the U.N. was a "socialistic liberal organization". That's what the U.S. are too then, since they are a member of the U.N. I learn something new every day !

"If a man is offered a fact which goes against his instincts, he will scrutinize it closely, and unless the evidence is overwhelming, he will refuse to believe it. If, on the other hand, he is offered something which affords a reason for acting in accordance to his instincts, he will accept it even on the slightest evidence." -- Bertrand Russell, in "Roads to Freedom"
