I suppose the main reason I have a hard time carrying the Slavery and Indian crosses, is that both sides of my family came from the Azores Islands only 2 generations back. I guess since I was born here, America's past, is mine as well. I just feel that I didn't do it so I'm not responsible.

Saying that I've had several black friends in the past (no reference to your post Yorick) seems to make me sound like I'm trying to prove something (like I'm not a bigot), but I really don't care about a person's race, we are all homan beings. I thank my parents for this outlook.
