The Renal Bloodscalp / Mae Var quest gets you 10500 gold I think for not much fighting.
Between that and the Cult of the Eyeless (7000 gold) you should have more than enough gold to continue the plot.
If not, freeing Hendak and the Slaves gets you nearly 4000, Korgan's book can be sold for quite a bit, and you can rescue Haer' Dalis for another 1000 (though it can be a bit tricky).
Other than that, selling mid-high level mage scrolls can be quite lucrative once you have looted them from any wizards you kill off.
Unfortunatly, helping the dryads only gives you experience and not any gold. Not even a tip for the courier boy
