I got a very similar problem - at one point of the game Minsk when ordered to go went one-two meters (game terms), stopped a bit then went on. So he lagged in the tail of the party for too long! I even thought of kicking him out of the party, but finally got the solution: in the config program (or in baldur.ini file) turn off the enhanced pathfinding (not a very useful feature IMHO) and there should be no problem. try it out!
