And it'd certainly make me feel unsafe if people were wandering around the streets with glass bottles and bricks held like weapons....
Also, it's kinda easier to run from someone attacking you with a glass bottle than someone shooting at you with a gun. Plus, getting stabbed with a glass bottle is also less likely to kill you than being shot. At least I think so.
