That's the whole nature of politics - to stay in power. I could easily substitute "Clinton" for "Bush" or "Reagan" or any other Republican politician, because every politician does what he/she can to stay in power. People like Carter, who didn't, are instantly branded a failure and laughed out of office (although I personally love Carter to death and wish we had more politicians like him).
