does any one know the answer to this? (and i do know there are a lot of very intelligent people out there so give this a try!)

i want to play multiplayer in prep for NWN, i have a 56k connection so obviously the conventional ways are out.
now i've been thinking there must be a way to cut down the traffic, i've been given the idea of changing the ip address that the comp dials out to on a tcp/ip mp game of bg (1 ,2) so that it dials directly to the comp hosting the game (that should be as easy as just creating a tcp/ip game while on the internet and waiting for the person to "dial in" using the ip address! if you know this is wrong or impossible or i'm way oversimplifying thimgs then post all of your thought (please remember the moderator will edit )

thank you
