You've be happy to know, MagiK, that the Brits just concluded a sting operation rounding up the heads of a child pornography ring. They simultaneously raided a number of offices across Britain, and arrest nearly two dozen people. Apparently, this is just the top, and they're going to go after the users, too. More luck to them, I say. While the users require mandatory psychiatry treatment, IMO, the child pornographers themselves should be locked up for a very, very long time. They are catering to a disease, and wrecking the lives of young children in the process.

This may seem harsh to some; but I view it as merchandising a disease. But enough to have it. Worse still, to deliberately pander to those who have got it, and to destroy kids by forcing them to make pornographic films, etc.

I agree that we may start people of other faiths and denominations, abused by their religious leaders, start to come forth. That's a good thing, IMO. The RCC probably has the worst record due to its enforcement of celibacy since the 13th century (the Eastern Orthodox Church, for instance, has always allowed its deacons to marry), but I'm sure this is a widespread problem. People in power are all too prone to allow their inner demons to slip the leash, since the fear of capture is a receding deterrent. By my way of thinking, those in power should be held to a higher standard, not a lower one.
