Something should happen soon. However, my walkthrough says that if you don't take a particular dialogue thread when you find the scroll, nothing will happen. I dunno if that's true, I've never actually done that quest. Apparently if you refer to the scroll as 'party treasure' nothing else'll happen.
If you didn't though, something will happen after about 5 days. And then something else 24hrs after that.
