I hear you on that score, Lord Brass. I just restarted the game AGAIN last night....I swear, the ratio of characters I've created to the number of games I've actually beaten must be 20:1 or something, because each time I discover a 'flaw' I feel I have to start all over. This time it was sparked by the realization that I can backstab with a Longsword or Scimtar, and so I didn't need those 2 Weapon Points in Small Sword at all. So I deleted my Fighter (97 hitpoints at Level 7!) and made an exact copy of him, except I put those points into Bow instead. Sheeesh......

Know the feeling. With me it must be 40:1, I beat the game once but have been making an incredible amount of characters (which I promptly delete afterwards.) Elven is the way to go for me, I don't really like dual-classing. I tried a cleric-mage, however they lvl far too slowly. Thief/mage is very god too - mage with a bow

and can pick locks.
