Have brought up this subject before - but, it is a continuing source of problems for many of us!!! My system at one time had in excess of 600+ K of conventional memory available and so was able to play most of the old DOS stuff. However, new motherboards, new sound cards, new video cards, etc., require more and more drivers, and, I guess, that gives us less conventional memory. Believe one of you out there (and I think it may have been Ziroc) who claimed that QEMM had allowed them to have 640K available at all times!!! That product by Quarterdeck came out about 1995 and the company has been sold to another outfit. Also believe that that memory manager is, for the most part, no longer available. One may find it on places like E-Bay and perhaps other similar sources. I am inclined to give it a shot if anyone can verify that it does in fact provide the C-Memory as I think ZIROC claimed it did. I sure as hell would love to see 640K of conventional memory available!! This stuff was rather expensive when I checked on it some time back - but believe you can buy used versions if you are lucky (about $95.00 new if I am not mistaken)!!
