My favorite Valentine's Day memories have to be those of days long gone when we, as elementary students, tried to sort out the box of cartoon valentine's to suit each fellow student that we gave one to and wishing for a kiss on the cheek in thanks from the cutest boy in the class. I've never been really hot on getting the traditional box od chocolates and flowers (although I've enjoyed them all LOL) and have to say the best gifts I've ever gotten were #1) a pantsuit and #2) a car.
This year I crocheted KHaN his own custom binky...just over 6 and a half feet long and 4 and a half feet wide, my big guy never has to worry about his toes poking out of the bottom of a good blanket while kicking back in his recliner or laying out on the couch. [img]smile.gif[/img]
Since it would be very hard to hide it from him while I made it, I asked him what colors he wanted, let him approve the pattern and let him see me make it.
It only took about 5 days which amazed me since I haven't crocheted in about 15 or 16 years...apparently it is like riding a bicycle. [img]smile.gif[/img]
So, instead of getting it on Valentine's day, he has been enjoying it for a couple of weeks.
I guess now we'll have to go out for dinner and a movie on Valentine's Day and make coming home to take a nap worthwhile.
