The school opposite Divination is Conjuration... you'd think it would be Illusion... That means that you can't summon elementals or use power words, but you still have spells like Mirror Image, Project Image, Animate Dead, Stoneskin, Magic Missile... the list goes on. I myself won the game as a solo sorc and I don't think I picked *any* divination spells.. so I'd say it's very possible.
