We have that too and I used a solicitor like that to fight a car crash claim for me

The Police didn't have enough evidence for either part invovled so I took a solicitor to try and get some compensation.

I went on the "no win no fee" thing which worked out fine
The solicitor took a small portion of what he got back for me

Not sure what is wrong with that?
He is taking the risk by working for free, a lawyer is not going to take a case he doesn't think he can win of course, but if you can't afford to pay lots of legal fees then this is your only real option.
When you win he takes a small part as his fee
What is wrong with that?

Seems fair to me and logical
