But just let me throw something your way...Let us say that the US consumes 50% but is responsible for 40% of the emissions, what is that a 5 to 4 ratio, now let's say that another country has .5% of consumption and 1% of emissions, a 1 to 2 ration, therefore less efficient. Are you saying that we should really make that country reduce their emissions, and that we are OK with our 40%? Look at it this way...if the country with 1% of the total reduces their emissions by 100% that is a 1% drop in total emissions, whereas the US would only need to drop their emissions by 2.5% for a 1% drop in world total...do you see what I am getting at? Even though our country is more efficient, it still benefits the world for us to reduce our emissions b/c we can do it much easier.
