If you wish to have her in your party, or only save her, all you need to do is to click on the pole which she is attached to. If that doesn't work it's more likely to be of a bug in your game. (One that I never heard of before.)
Adding Viconia may be a smart move as well since she's a quite strong NPC and has a lot of interesting dark magic to play around with. Also, she spices the converstions up a whole lot with her evil allignment. A nice addition with other words.
