I think the two can't really be compared. The sytem is basically the same, but other than that there are major differences.

The CRPGs have the advantage that they can be played on your own, there's no need to think of a story and the area's are much more concrete.

On the other hand, PnP games are indeed more flexible, both in the storyline and the actions you can take. The other players take actions of their own and drain your cookie supply, and you can have a good laugh too. Originality is often rewarded and creating the most powerful character possible is not what's the most important thing in the game.

Now these are only a few of the differences between the two, though I believe I would prefer PnP if there were a group of motivated, interested and regularly availiable players and a good DM or two where I live. Sadly, I have to make due with CRPGs, which, luckily, is not that bad an option either [img]smile.gif[/img]
