Larry picked Mistral off of the ground in her unconscious state and carried her for the remainder of the trip home...good thing he had a girdle to boost his srtrength, or he may have been tired.
He ws glad that he had won the day...somehow...without any bloodshed. That is what Mistral liked...as few deaths as possible. Reaching the little run-down house that they had begun to inhabit as home, Larry lay her down on her bed, and left the room, closing the door behind him. It was almost sunset, and he was ready for some sleep as well.
yet he had to think of Mistral at this time and less of his own needs. How was he going to get her spirits back up? How could he bring her liveliness back to her, her sense of worth and wonder?
She now had that fire burning rather low in her eyes, and he missed the bright glow she once had. He had to find a way to prove those lies against her virtue...but how?
Finally exaustion won the battle, and Larry slumped to the floor, outside Mistral's room.
