The MSN Messenger and AIM are free downloads and free for computer-to-computer chats (everywhere, as far as I know).
at
www.MSN.com and
www.AOL.com just look for the FREE d/l for each of the chat services. I don't THINK they charge anyone ANYWHERE for it, but things may be different where you are. (???)
