Sephi, knowing he had to move quickly, put the mirror under the ray of light at an angle. However, the result surprised even him.
What was just one ray of light spread, becoming a wide fan while keeping the same intensity. The fighters stopped in their tracks, the mages' casting was disrupted, and discord reigned through the room. Unfortunately the barrage lasted only a few brief seconds, but in those precious few seconds he had done more than enough optical damage to his combatants.
But the mercenaries quickly regained their composure, and came at him again, albeit quite a bit less accurate. A sword swipe that was intended for him missed completely, at least three feet to his left. Sephi grabbed his forearm and brought it down hard on his shoulder, snapping it like a twig and causing the man to howl in pain. Then he spun, taking the man with him, and sent himself under the armored man's arm, jabbing him in the throat with the points of his fingers on his left hand, dropping him to the floor instantly.
But the mages didn't need accuracy as long as they had area effect spells. Two glowing orbs went forward, splitting when they reached points next to Sephi. One of them lowered his ability to resist their spells, making him much more vulnerable. The other one, however, was meant to bring him down emotionally and make him feel absolutely hopeless. Hah! There are advantages to killing your emotions, you know!
Knowing he had given himself away, he skittered away and blended in with the shadows, moving in behind one of the mages. He drew Shocksword without a sound, then jammed it into the mage's heart, killing him instantly. Sephi kicked him off of his sword, wiped the blade off, then went back into the shadows.
