Then again, reminds me that I was paired to play golf with a Mr Brown up in Granton on Spey. I asked him where he came from, and he said Edinburgh (back In Australia I have a mate who emgirated several years ago who also came from Edinbrgh). In what I still rank as my alltime stupidest utterance, I said to Mr Brown, "Edinburgh - I know someone who comes from there". Realising instantly how totally stupid that was we both laughed.
It turns out that Tom (guy from Australia) was the regular golfing partner of Mr Brown - they played every Saturday for nigh on 15 years. Small world really isn't it
