Also, I'd strongly recomend getting the Athlon XP series. The Palomino chip is significantly faster then the Thunderbird. As far as HD's go, Western Digital just came out with a 160 gig, 7200 rpm, ATA 100 drive for 299 which is a hell of a deal. Have fun!!

ehhhh you can still sort of copy DVDs...You just have to rip them and then decode them and then reencode them with a program like Flask, then make SVCDs. takes three or 4 cds for one dvd, and most dvd players will play them. You can lower the resolution and get a movie on 2 Cds, but why not go for laserdisk quality? The big downside is that it takes FOREVER to encode them, plus each ripped dvd takes up 3-8 gigs.
