Ha! When I used to be a chanop on IRC, we'd get these little jerks in there that we called "ops-beggars"...you know, "Make me an op! Make me an op!! PLEEEESE!!! I wanna show my buds how KEWL I am!! Make me an OP!!"
Finally, after a while, we got so tired of it, we put a message up in the topic line of the channel window: "To auto-op yourself, press ALT+F4".
You could always tell who fell for it by when they suddenly dropped off the channel!
