~ Once above, Mistral sprints to the stall that had caught her eye earlier ~I mustn't keep Kaz waiting...~ The owner grins cheerfully as he sees her. ~ "Welcome, good customer! I'm Luthor, most pleased to serve you! Please, have a look around; I'm sure you'll find something suitable enough!" ~ He gestures smilingly towards his menagerie of exotic creatures.
Mistral peers carefully at each animal in turn, frowning a little. Finally, she locates her choice ~ "I'd like that one!" ~ Luthor's laughter comes out in a boom ~ "Looks awesome, doesn't she? She's a bright one - knows every word of the human and elven language. But she's a fierce one, I'll have to warn you..." ~ His chatter comes to a complete halt as he sees the creature lavishing Mistral's caresses and gentle whisperings ~ "Well, I'll be! By Gawd, I thought I'd never find a home for that one!" ~ He shakes his head disbelievingly. ~ She smiles, with the hawk perched steadily on her left wrist ~ "How much does she cost?" ~ Luthor scratches his head undecidedly, then shrugs ~ "No one wanted her, anyway. She's yours for free." ~ Delight suffuses her face ~ "Thank you!" ~ She plants a quick kiss on his wrinkled cheek, which promptly reddens. ~
~ Turning to her new friend, she whispers ~ "Let's go, shall we?" ~ Making their way to the abandoned house, they enter the portal. Within minutes, they have returned to the kitchen of the palace once more, the hawk flapping her magnificent wings in greeting at Larry and Kaz. ~
~ "It's time to get acquainted. Larry, Kaz and Isabeau." ~ Turning to her friends, Mistral says ~ "Now we'll always be able to keep in touch, even if we're separated. Especially you, Kaz... I'd never feel safe without knowing how you were." ~
