suggestions, suggestions, I need ideas, please help, thank you
The first two are good ideas...but I cannot see how the third would fall under 'economic' history?

There are thousands of topics that can be discussed
*The expansion into California and the Gold Rush
*The completion of the Trans-national railroad
*The stock market crash of 1929 and the resulting great depression
*The introduction of fiat (paper and coin currency) money
*The Smoot-Hawley(sp) Act which (trying to remember off the top of my head ) worsened the great depression not only in our country but around the world
*The establishment of the Federal Reserve System
*The purchase of the Lousianna Territory
*Prohibition
*The Glass-Stegall(sp) Act which made it illegal for banks, insurance companies, and broker firms to be controlled by one entity
*The infamous Junk Bonds of the '80s
*The collapse of the Savings and Loan industry
Many many more...if none of these trip your trigger I can come up with a few more
