They seemingly botched the plane assault (the one that 'crashed') that was heading for Camp David (supposedly). This would have eliminated one of the Presidents' best areas of refuge. Bad luck for whoever was planning the attacks I suppose.
I don't think this is all that the attackers have up their sleeve. This was just designed to create an atmosphere of dispair and panic, they have succeeded admirally. America (and it's allies) are fuming with anger and bloodlusting thoughts of revenge. It would be wise to take a few deep breaths and not fall into the anger-trap. Another Franz Ferdinand would not be good for the world.
