Ok, so Improved Alacrity is a ToB-spell .. boohoo, im in the SoA part of the game now [img]smile.gif[/img]
I just kinda had to share this with someone ...
I've allways been annoyed by those Beholders and Gauths, not so much because of the way they look at me, but because they can fling spells at me so fast... ( Im a solo kensai/mage lvl 13/25 ).
So, when i met a rather big party of Beholders and gauths in a certain Beholder-lair, real down-under ... i kinda thought, well .. lets see if they can match this ...
So i ran away, memorized a few spells, and came back
5 beholders
4 gauths
1 elder orb
I searched for them under Improved Invisibility ... stopped just where they couldnt see me .. and casted Improved Alacrity ( for those not familiar with the spell, it removes the pauze between spells, meaning you can cast one right after the other)
Then i casted this:
Greater malison, symbol death, symbol death, symbol stun, symbol stun, symbol stun ....
2 beholders, 1 gauth, 1 elder orb left
Desintegrate, Desintegrate, Desintegrate
1 elder orb left
magic missiles, magic missiles, magic missiles,emotion, spook, fear
curiously enough he failed both his Magic Resistance AND saving throws on all accounts. I now had a terrified injured elder orb .. laying on the floor crying of emotion ....
I casted another Improved alacrity
desintegrate, destintegrate, desintegrate, finger of death, finger of death, finger of death, finger of death
He saved against all but the last .. and he was gone ....
The whole thing lasted a little less then 4 rounds .. and with all the symbols and magic missiles flying it was quite the sight, definetly for the beholders with all those eyes and the spells coming right for them
Too bad i dont know how to make/upload screenies .. but'I'd definetly recomend it to everyone ( No time-stop, real-time action is more appealing to me for some reason) ...

( i had the ToB-version of the cloak of reflection, meaning you dont get injured, but it doesnt rebound to the caster either)
