Actually, Milamber, if a hard drive's Track (Sector 0) gets destroyed (which is very possible, and yes, even by a virus), the drive would become unusable, just not completely. Track 0 is where the boot information for the drive is stored, so the drive would be functional, just never able to be bootable (would make a great storage-only device).
