I am always using my own scripts for my guys. I recommend everybody to make following modifications in the predefined scripts:
1. Remove the blocks concerning actions, which you want to handle yourself, from the scripts. For example, the paladin or ranger scripts contain heaps of healing blocks. Maybe, you want to heal your characters yourself and not to allow them to waste spells and potions.
2. Update the thief script so that the thief will detect traps when no monsters are in sight and fight when a combat is running. The "trap detecting thief" script is unusable because such thief will detect traps all the time and ignore combats completely.
