Here's an article from Britain's prestigious Sun newspaper that I thought was very true. The comments are by England legend and famed cricket commentator David Lloyd. In it he compares the Aussies to Manchester United and England to Swinden Town. Gee, is Swindon Town really that bad?

LLOYD SALUTES WIZARDS OF OZ
By TOM MORRIS

DAVID LLOYD has hailed Australia as "far and away the best team in the world" after their thrashing of England at Edgbaston.

The crushing innings defeat inside four days came as no surprise to the former England coach.

He said: "It was predictable. It's no use bemoaning what we are and are not, saying it's all gloom and doom.

"In Test terms we are second or third in the world behind Australia and maybe South Africa but the first Test showed just how far ahead of the rest Australia are.

"This series will show us just how far we have to go to catch up."

Lloyd believes that to get anywhere near the undisputed masters during this series England "will have to play monumentally well to compete but that is no disgrace against such a great side."

"If Manchester United play Swindon Town they win because they are better. In golf Tiger Woods is the best in the world and there are some wonderful players who never get near him. It's the same in cricket with Australia."

Lloyd would not even use injuries as an excuse for England's poor showing.

He said: "It wouldn't have made any difference."

The former England opener was speaking at Bristol's county ground as he helped launch a crusade to encourage a future generation of England hopefuls to bridge the gap with the Aussies.
