Here's how it goes, you write a resume for the character like on the Annoying or Not? Website. You must write down what might make them annoying, and what might make them not annoying. Here's an example:

Anomen

Profession: Fighter/Cleric, works for the Order of the Radiant Heart

Why he might be annoying:

He has an english accent.
He brags a lot.
He's slightly sexist.
He's the only official male romance option.

Why he might not be annoying:

His bragging is due to his childhood and his father.
His sister died, so he had the option of taking revenge or letting justice take it's toll.
He's a great fighter, and an even better cleric.
He's not sexist to your female character.
