Do you know how stereotypes are formed? BY most of the group acting in a certain way? and I for One have NEVER met an 'un-self-rightous paladin.' of course, this may say a lot for my exp. the paladin in BG1 was ok (as paladins go), but the rest of them are soo annoying. gimme and elf anyday.

I disagree. Stereotypes are formed by one or two of the group acting in a certain way, and being very in-your-face about it, while the rest of the group go off and do something else, and not go out of their way to make the point that they are doing that. Saying all paladins are self-rightous, is like saying all Brits are very prim and proper.
