1- Anomen is not a paladin.

2- Paladins being "self righteous bastards" is a ridiculous stereotype, in the way that all stereotypes are ridiculous. It´s like saying all dwarves are drunkards or all halflings are thieves.

3- I happen to like paladins very much. Even if they can sometimes be judgemental, all the paladins I know of are decent characters who try to help others rather than take advantage of them. I like playing as a paladin and being generally heroic, and I don´t think that makes me a "self righteous bastard" in any way.
