What's up with those liches, man! They don't have magic resistance, but if I cast a spell on one it says "spell inffective" or something like that, even when it doesn't have a shield! What I do is either:
*use sunray from the sword Daystar
*cast the 7th level cleric spell sunray
*cast the various undead killikg, holding, repelling, or controlling mage and cleric spells
*get a high level evil cleric, turn undead, control the lich, and have it kill itself with its spells "meteor swarm, disintigrate, flesh to stone, finger of death, etc.
