written together with "My Shoelaces and More", inspired by the very lively (yawn) speaker.
SLOW DEATH
The voice drones on and on
On and on
Like the pesky buzzing of the bees
Buzzing in your ear
You can’t do anything but try to live with it
And slowly get annoyed
Frustrated
The mind tries to fly away
With the clouds that seem to have nowhere to go
The eyes focus on some poor inanimate object
That if it could talk would say
“Take a picture. It lasts longer.”
Inevitably we’re back to the voice
The voice that drones
And drones
In meaningless monotone
Until you decide
To just die a slow death
Death by boredom
Oh yeah... bump bump ba-dump
