Wynne's got the races a bit mixed up. It's Aerie who likes gnomes, and Viconia will go for a half-elf (but not a pure elf.)
Jaheira's romance is the most _technically_ complex in that it has the most in-game conditions necessary to advance it...which also made it the buggiest. There's the Harper quest that the romance kind of keys around, plus there are LTs that only run in certain areas, upon rest, etc. which have defied many an adventurer.
In terms of difficult to complete from a DIALOGUE standpoint, that would be Anomen (completing his final LT "successfully" is non-trivial), with honorable mentions to the Aerie/HD love triangle (also a bit tricky) and knowing just how much of a sex object Viconia enjoys being (hint: not 100%) As long as you're basically nice and understanding to Aerie (without HD muscling in) and Jaheira, you're basking in the love.
