(Wyvern emailed this to me, I thought it was excellent!)
Wyvern: Thought that you would enjoy this! Saz can be sooooo brilliant!
Once upon a network dreary,
fingers cramped and vision bleary,
gaming manuals piled high and character sheets upon the floor,
Longing for some sort of clue,
Not knowing what else to do,
I did finally turn to the Internet, to find the Ironworks door.
Typing with a steady hand,
I invoked the "Search" command,
and waited for the Ironworks page to load once more.
Only this...and nothing more.
Deep into the monitor peering,
long I sat there, wandering, fearing,
watching the small blue line dart back and forth some more,
Still it seemed the page was loading,
Even at my insistent goading,
Then suddenly all went blank,
and on the screen read:
"NOT FOUND: ERROR 404"
Only this, and nothing more.
Was this some occult illusion?
Some maniacal intrusion?
Surely, it was there! The forum
was there the day before!
I surveyed it in a tizzy,
Surely was the server busy?
Or perhaps rejecting packets from some router's core?
With my fingers pale and trembling,
Slowly toward my mouse was bending,
longing for a happy ending,
hoping Ironworks would be restored,
Praying hard, but expecting nothing,
I depressed the "Refresh" button,
But on the screen there still persisted
the ghastly message from before.
Ghastly grim they stared and taunted,
haunted, as my patience wore:
"NOT FOUND: ERROR 404".
I tried to catch the 'net off guard..
I clicked again, but twice as hard!
I pleaded with the accursed web,
I begged and cried, and then I swore,
Then I tried in desperation,
several log-in combinations,
still there came the incantation, just as senseless as before,
Error status page forever mocking,
displaying nonsense as before,
"NOT FOUND: ERROR 404".
And the message, never flitting,
still is sitting, still is sitting,
in the place where our beloved forum sat
just a short time before,
And its message has the seeming of a demon's that is dreaming,
As we wonder if the forum will return from days of yore,
And its soul from out the message reading "ERROR 404"
shall be lifted...nevermore!
