Stupid question: how much does having an account cost?
I'm trying to avoid spending that much time on a game, but I just finished Wizards & Warriors, and there were some weekends where I would spend the better part of a day playing the game. Plus, I do have some friends that play, so I'm sure they'd rope me into meeting them online some nights. *shaking my head in disbelief* They're going to laugh until they cry when they find out I'm actually considering playing

Not to sound like a know it all but...
DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!
Seriously. Take it from me. I've been playing EQ since the day it came out, March 16, 1998. I was 15 at the time and my God I became ingrossed with it. Maybe I didn't have enough will power, but jesus christ it takes over your life. If you want to be *relatively* strong, you will have to play like 2-4 hours a day at least. That is, in comparison to everyone else.
Back in the day, the game was good. Then things went sour. The original team who made it mostly quit. NOw we have these know nothings who just piss the customers off. The company, Verant, is only interested in making hte game extremelly drawn out so you have to play longer. This game is for addicts. You won't have much of a life. God, to get to level 50 took me a freaking year, and I'm old school.
Think of it this way. You level at the same rate you do in baldur's gate. Except at like 21, you're super good in BG. In eq you're a newbie at 21. There are 60 levels.
I could go on forever. I would not get this game. If you don't have the time to spend on it, it sucks. If you do, then EQ's gonna be your life.
