MAYBE IT'S CULTURAL?

I hate generalisations and I'm sick to death of having to defend my faith from the actions of those who claim to share my belief. So please, unless you want me - an Australian to start ranting about how most Americans seem to equate D&D with Satanism, stop generalising!

Yorick:

I will not attempt to speak for anyone else. My attitude has always been to "live and let live." Religion and faith are very personal things and I would never, intentionally, denigrate anyone who believes and pratices their faith.

Just as governments (see the China Crisis thread) can cause people to have bad feelings toward a country, so-called church leaders can cast a very bad light on a given religion. Here in the States, a lot of the negativity is caused by a few individuals who have become "powerful" through various forms of media. It is they, not necessarily members of their religion, who shape the opinions toward Christians. They preach intolerance and exclusiveness. Sad, really, for "Men of God."

In this day and age, anyone who can maintain a strong faith in ANYTHING, will always have my respect, if not my agreement. "Religious" organizations on the other hand...
