For a Paladin, that button should represent "turn undead."
If there are any undead in the area, and your level is what it needs to be to counter the strength of that particular undead, the button will make them turn away, and run from you. You are a paladin with good written all over you. It is like showing a cross to a vampire, or something. If that is the button you are referring to.
