No, the key doesnt open the door to Samia. Firkragg's mage has that key. And he was talking about the room with the Greater Wraith, IIRC, cause that's where the key is located.
But to your question, Chaos, the Chapel Key opens nothing, AFAIK. It is just there to get the player confused, probably. But it cant open any door or chest.
