But IMHO Penguins are the absolute ultimate bird. They are so funny, when I see them I always laugh!

Epona, here in Germany we have a cartoonist, named Uli Stein, whose cartoon's chief protagonists are mice, cats and penguins. He started out with the mice and the cats, classic constellation, later on he added the penguins who, over time, have become the true superstars - you and I know why
. His books are very funny and tremendously successful. Unfortunately, I doubt that there are English translations.
His cartoons are also very popular as postcards.
