Jimbo,
Robin Hood is so cool, but I HATED that film with bloody Kevin Costner in it - why did everyone like that film so much, it was DIRE! There was a much better film called 'Robin Hood' which was released about the same time but didn't get nearly as much publicity.
GRRRRR!
My favorite depiction of Robin Hood though, was a British TV show called 'Robin of Sherwood' which ran for a couple of series back in the '80s. It was very atmospheric - really good scenery, use of colour (red skies, that kind of thing) and beautiful music by Clannad which made the hair on the back of my neck stand up it was so haunting!
That series summed up everything that Robin Hood should be - not some big budget piece of Hollywood tat with actors who do really really bad, completely unbelieveable pseudo-english accents!! Really, I'm sure that unless you're English, you don't realise how bad hollywood so-called 'english accents' really are - they are so off the mark it makes me cringe. I can't watch the thing. I could just put up with Winona Ryder in Dracula, the accent only became silly about 20 or so times in the film.
(Epona looks around nervously, aware that silence has fallen as once more she rants and raves incoherently)
Sorry Jimbo, that just all came spilling out there!
