So, I've taken a little sabbatical from video games since last spring. Mostly because I haven't been able to use my old saves since then. Here's the problem:

I have only one PS2 memory card, I got it in one of those combo packs with a controller. It's a 16mb memory card that required a disc called "Memory Manager" in order to function. otherwise, the PS2 will not recognize it. When moving out of my apartment last year, I somehow dropped this disc, followed closely (nigh simultaneously) by the PS2. The console was fine, however the disc was irreparable. Of course, I had several saves on this card that had a great investment of time in them.
Normally, I could just go buy that combo pack again, and use the new disc. I'd be out 15 or 20 bucks, but worth the hundreds of hours saved. When I went to look for said pack, though, they have a new card that doesnt require the disc. Read: the disc doesn't appear to be on the market anymore.
My question is basically: What can I do to retrieve those save files from my memory card? Do you think that the new cards will allow me to access the old one, as well? (Doesn't seem likely.)

Thanks for any help.
