There is a setting for violence, at least, and by default it's at the "Full Gore". And there were no children anywhere until I installed an unofficial patch. Curses.
I'm in the Brotherhood of Steel now, and the game seems pretty awesome so far. By the way, I can't remember ever finding a Stealth Boy in Fallout 2. Is there one?
Fallout 3 doesn't need to be great. They might accidentally remove all the things that made the first games good. For example, I suspect that making it a first-person shooter would kill the game pretty well.
