if you have already installed patch 3 than I'd suggest that you completely re-install the game.
after re-installing the game, only install the first two patches than install two other fan-created patches which fix and enhance the game.

anyway, i partially agree with 'the mighty stamar' but the game still has some value. the town quests are lame, but going through the temple is fun. all in all, it's a short dungeoun-hack with a weak plot. $10 for it is a nice deal.
