Does anyone play this boardgame? It's based on the Song of Ice and Fire books by G.R.R Martin, and has the same high quality as it's literary counterparts. I've been playing with the same group for quite some time, though, and I'd like to discuss the game with other players to get a fresh perspective. Typically, we play the Clash of Kings Expansion with five players (leaving out House Grevjoy). And typically, it's either Llanister or Baratheon that wins. Mainly because Llanister quickly seizes control of the sea area around Pyke, allowing them to control the entire region. Including Riverrun, Seagard and Pyke. Their Naval support makes them nearly invulnerable, especially after deploying Siege weapons on Llanisport. Baratheon will eventually challenge their power, but will also have to content with Stark and especially Martell and Tyrell. Personally, I rather like playing the Martells. The Tyrells (who never seem to win) will typically have issues with both Llanister and Baratheon, allowing Martell to seize control of the south without much trouble. Still, their housecards are quick mediocre. Unlike Llanister who has both Tywin (str = X) and Tyrion (negate all support). Baratheon has also been seriously weakened since they lost Salador Saan (best card from the original). Does anyone have good theories on how houses like Martell and Tyrell can effectively oppose the giants? Also, how does Stark go about against Llanister in above scenario ? During our last game, I tried the agressive approach (with Baratheon giving me all the space I needed). But after the first Mustering, their circle of fortresses becomes indestructable and Naval opposition becomes impossible. Suggestions?
