NWN's is both a single and multiplayer game - and it does have offical mods you can buy and dl. Maybe not each month, but you can. But you can also download a lot of free ones too. Far more variety, imo.

It all adds up. Frankly, I've better things to money on - much better just to buy NWNs, pay for the occasional offical expansion and dl the rest of the free mods, per example.
