First, my specs:
AMD Athlon XP1500+
512 MB RAM
Gforce3 ti200 w/64 MB ram
Windows 98se
Using the auto-detect setting found in the video options the first few battles have run
very smooth and fast!

I found out the hard way yesterday that I had Win98 first edition. The game requires at least Win98se. This was the main tech problem I refered to in my earlier post. Once I borrowed a Win98se disk from a friend and installed, updated drivers, ect. everything fell into place neatly.
The campaign seems radically different and yet still quite familiar. The use of the Senate to drive events and earn money is a cool new feature. In the prolouge, my other Roman allies actually came to my aid when one of my weaker settelments was under seige and my main army was a few turns way conquering for the glory of Rome!
So far the game is everything that was great about M:TW and more!
