Fallout 2 is a great game, one reason being that you can play the game in so many different ways. Unarmed is my favorite fighting type, targeting body parts is definitely the key (go for the eyes!). Any weapon type is viable though, except maybe throwing. I tried a character specializing in thrown weapons and never had enough grenades to go around. I never used first aid much, I just carried lots of stims.

I suggest that you play without a walkthrough, and then play again, and again, and again, there are a ton of quests and you wont see them all after one game. Leave the walkthrough for the 6th or 7th time, if you really want it.
